Biography

Dr. Qingsong Wang, originally from Hai'an, Jiangsu Province, is an Associate Professor (appointed via exceptional promotion) and Doctoral Supervisor at Southeast University. He is alsoa Senior Member of the IEEE. Dr. Wangwas selected asone of the inaugural "Xiaomi Young Scholars" at Southeast University and was honored with the 19th "Wu Ai Wu Shi" (Love My Teacher) Award, recognizing him as the most popular faculty member within the School of Electrical Engineering. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Zhejiang University, followed by a Ph.D. from Southeast University, during which he spent one year as a joint-training researcher at Aalborg University in Denmark. Prior to pursuing his full-time doctoral studies, Dr. Wang accumulated over five years of industrial experience, focusing primarily on hardware research and development for electronic ballasts, variable frequency drives, and related products.

Dr. Wang has served as the Principal Investigator for two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (General Program), one project by the Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation (Youth Program), and three industry-sponsored projects, while also participating in numerous other research initiatives. His teaching portfolio includes undergraduate courses such asFundamentals of Circuits,Signals and Systems, andCognition and Seminar on Electronic Circuits and Systems, as well as the graduate-level case study coursePower Electronics and Electric Machine System Design. As of December 2023, Dr. Wang has authored or co-authored more than 30 SCI/EI-indexed journal papers as the first or corresponding author. Among these, over 20 are first-author SCI papers, includingone ESI Highly Cited Paper and three papers recognized for outstanding performance. He holds 14 authorized Chinese invention patents. Professionally, Dr. Wang serves asa Standing Committee Member of the 4th Youth Working Committee of the China Power Supply Society (CPSS) and a Committee Member of the 2nd Special Committee on Power-Electronic-Based Power Systems and Equipment. He is alsoa Committee Member of the Youth Working Committee for both the 8th and 9th Councils of the China Electrotechnical Society (CES). Additionally, he isa Senior Member of both CPSS and CES. He actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for major domestic and international journals and served as the Session Chair for the IPEMC 2020-ECCE Asia international conference.
