Professor Antoine Cizeron from University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 Visited Our School

On May 7, 2026, Dr. Antoine Cizeron, Assistant Professor from the Laboratory of Electrical Machines and Power Electronics at University Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 (UCBL), France, visitedthe School of Electrical Engineering at Southeast University (SEU) at the invitation of Professor Wei Hua, Dean of the school. He delivered an academic lecture entitled “Research Activities toward Electric Drive Modularity.” The lecture was hosted by Professor Hua and attended by more than 30 faculty members and students.

At the beginning of the lecture, Prof. Hua warmly welcomed Prof. Antoine Cizeron on behalf of the school. Prof. Hua noted that Dr. Antoine Cizeron has established an excellent academic reputation in the field of electric machine control, and that his research achievements have made important contributions to the development of modular electric drives. He emphasized that the visit would provide valuable opportunities for academic exchange and learning for both faculty members and students at SEU.

During the formal presentation, Dr. Antoine Cizeron gave a systematic and in-depth introduction to the topic of modular electric drives. Starting from the fundamental concepts, he clearly explained the operating principles, key technologies and technical challenges of segmented three-phase electric drive structures. He further demonstrated the unique advantages of modular drive systems over conventional centralized electric drive systems, particularly in terms of low-voltage safety and fault-tolerant capability. His presentation provided the audience with insightful perspectives that combined forward-looking academic ideas with practical engineering applications. In the Q&A session, participants raisedseveraltechnical questions related to modular motor control and artificial intelligence applications. Dr. Antoine Cizeron offered detailed and professional responses.

The lecture lasted approximately one and a half hours and featured rich academic content in a lively atmosphere. Faculty members and students conducted in-depth discussions, furtherly promoting international academic exchange in the fields of power electronics and electric drives within SEU.
