Biography

Prof. Heyun Lin received Ph. D. degree in engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1992. He had been with the Postdoctoral Research Station at Southeast University from 1992 to 1994, and joined the faculty in September 1994. He is currently a Professor, Ph. D. Supervisor, IET Fellow, IEEE Senior Member, Senior Member of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering and the China Electrotechnical Society, Member of the Offshore Wind Power Committee of the CSEE, Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Southeast University, and a Member of the Academic Committee of Southeast University. He was selected as an Academic Leader in the Jiangsu Province "Qing Lan Project"High-Level Talent in the Jiangsu Province "Six Talents Peak" Program, and High-Level Talent in the Jiangxi Province Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program.

His research interests include Novel Permanent Magnet Motors, Electric Vehicle Motors and Drives, Wind Power Generation, Novel Switching Equipment, and Permanent Magnet Energy-Saving Transmission Technology. He has led and completed one National "863" Program project, seven National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects (including one Key Program), and over 30 other provincial, ministerial, and industry-collaboration projects. He has published over 300 academic papers, including over 100 SCI-indexed papers, and holds over 100 authorized invention patents (with 8 transferred). He is the recipient of multiple honors including two Second Prizes and one Third Prize of the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award, the National-Level Excellent Course Award, and one Jiangsu Provincial Excellent Ph.D. Thesis award guided. He serves as an Ad-hoc Reviewer for several international academic journals published by IEEE and IET.
