Recently, Elsevier officially released the list of2025 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers. A total of 92 scholars from Southeast University have been selected, including five professors from our school: Chen Wu, Cheng Ming, Gu Wei, Hua Wei and Wang Zheng.
In 2025, the Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list features 6,310 individuals from 543 universities, enterprises and research institutions, covering 10 disciplinary areas and 83 first-level disciplines under the classification of the Ministry of Education of China.
The basic data for this year’s selection was extracted using an optimized and updated Elsevier discipline mapping system aligned with the first-level disciplines defined by the Ministry of Education (now covering 111 disciplines). This improvement enables a more intuitive and systematic presentation of Chinese researchers’ disciplinary affiliation and academic performance, aligns with the academic research ecosystem of China’s disciplinary structure, and scientifically and accurately portrays the research output of Chinese scholars.
