Biography

Haiwei Cai received his B.S. degree from South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2010, and Ph.D. degree from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA, in 2015, both in electrical engineering. He was an Application Engineer at ANSYS, Inc., Ann Arbor, MI, USA, from 2016 to 2018. He joined The School of Electrical Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2018, where he is currently as an Associate Professor. He is an adjunct faculty at The Ohio State University and Miami University.

He serves as a reviewer for several IEEE transactions including TIE, TEC, and TPEL, and a member of IEEE IAS Electric Machine Committee. He received Graduate Fellowship from US Department of Energy, “Da Vinci Award” from ANSYS, Second Prize of Beijing Final and Outstanding Award of World Challenge in The International New Energy and Intelligent Vehicle Competition of CIEC. His research interests include motor design and control for vehicle electrification, servo system, and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technology.
