Electricity and information are two indispensable elements of modern society development. On one hand, applying advanced information technology into electricity industry could help solve practical problems. On the other hand, setting up specific requirements and standards for information technology application in electricity industry could also make the former a good trouble-solver in industrial application. With the development of smart grid, the integration between electricity and information technology has become an inevitable trend. Information technology could only be of industrial value, when it is integrated with practice. The objective of the course is to help students understand the principles and applications of information technology in electrical engineering field, and solve actual problems using computer information techniques. As an optional course aimed for senior students, the course, which was situated in the application prospect of electrical information technology, leads students to the new development of it.
