Biography

Li Zhou was born in Nanjing, China, in 1985. He received the B.S. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2007. From 2010 to 2012, sponsored by the China Scholarship Council, he worked as joint Ph.D. student in the University of Birmingham of UK. And he received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the School of Electrical Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2013. He is now a lecturer of the School of Electrical Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing, China. His research interests include power system operation and control, AC/DC hybrid power transmission, and also renewable energy generation and control. In 2012, he worked as the Research Associate in the School of Electronic, Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Birmingham, participating in the multi-terminal MMC VSC HVDC real-time simulation and operation research projects authorized by the UK national grid company. Furthermore, he participated in the research projects supported by the Chinese 11th five-year plan and the Chinese 12th five-year plan respectively. Also, he participated in the research projects cooperated with industrial communities such as China Electric Power Research Institute (China EPRI), Guodian Science and Technology Research Institute (GSTRI), Nari Group corporation, etc.
