I.Course Introduction (including teaching goals and requirements) within 300 words:
The application of Power Electronics in industry is a new interdisciplinary subject which developed from the application of power electronics, control theory and information technology in modern power systems. Based on the practical application, tracing the latest development of domestic and international power electronics technology in the AC-DC Power Transmission and Distribution System , combining with the personal research results of the professor in this field, this course proposes a deep study of the basic principle and their application of various power electronic devices in power system. Through the study of this curriculum, students are required to know the structure, principle and function of power flow and stability control of the main FACTS devices, meantime Grasp the structure , principle and the detecting and controlling methods of the main Electric Power Quality Compensator devices. Furthermore, it is also required that the students can do a deeper research combining the knowledge acquired in the course, which will form a firm base for the future.
